    200m from Central statoon. Run by a very friendly Dutch family. Good for groups, couples and those who want an inexpensive trip and using the hotel as a base to see the whole city.All day travel 7 euro with trams just oitside the door. The stairs as in all Dutch buildings area joyous challenge! Enjoy!!

    I’ve stayed at Van Gelder possibly 10/15 times over the past 15 years and I have say I love the place. The rooms are good, suits our group perfectly, beds are clean and most importantly very comfortable. Staff are great always a joy to deal with. Few snacks, beer etc sold at reception well priced. Van Gelder is perfect.

  • "A nice hotel in the heart of Amsterdam!"

    We have been there and we had a double room with 3 big windows looking in a road with stores not so noisy! A nice basic, comfortable and clean room for travelers that they are not going to spend their day in their room. The price was quite good for a hotel in the heart of Amsterdam!
